Advanced Google Analytics

Courtney Freeborn, Webmanager for the State Department of Health, will facilitate Advanced Google Analytics training this October. You will receive your Advanced Google Analytics Certification at the conclusion of this course. Each unit will last approximately 1- 1 ½ hours. All four classes will be held on the four Thursdays in October (4, 11, 18, & 25) at 10:30am at the Department of Libraries, 200 NE 18th, Computer Lab, 2nd floor.

To complete the advanced course and receive certification, you must first complete the Google Analytics for Beginners. If you did not complete the Beginners class with iPro in March, you may finish it on your own time before the Advanced class. Go to

Course Overview

Advanced Google Analytics walks you through how data gets collected and processed into readable reports. You’ll learn how to use configurations like Custom Dimensions, Custom Metrics, and Event Tracking to collect data that’s specific to your business. The course will also demonstrate more advanced analysis techniques using segmentation, channel reports, audience reports, and custom reports, as well as marketing strategies like remarketing and Dynamic Remarketing that show ads to customers who have visited your website.

o    Lesson 4: Storing data and generating reports

Unit 2: Setting Up Data Collection and Configuration– October 11, 2018

o    Lesson 1: Organize your Analytics account
o    Lesson 2: Set up advanced filters on views
o    Lesson 3: Create your own Custom Dimensions
o    Lesson 4: Create your own Custom Metrics
o    Lesson 5: Understand user behavior with Event Tracking
o    Lesson 6: More useful configurations

Unit 3: Advanced Analysis Tools and Techniques– October 18, 2018

o    Lesson 1: Segment data for insight
o    Lesson 2: Analyze data by channel
o    Lesson 3: Analyze data by audience

Unit 4: Advanced Marketing Tools– October 25, 2018
